Vocational Training Institute, Ramchandrapuram Village, Kondurg Mandal, Mahabubnagar Dist:

The Unit was established during 2007-2008 in an area of 28 acres 34 guntas.Apart from farming activity the centre provides vocational training in tailoring and embroidery and Vehicle Driving. The vocational programmes are being sponsored and funded by Swamy Ramananda Theertha Institute of Rural Development.

a)Tailoring and embroidery:

Training is being imparted to rural women free of cost. The duration of training is 3 months. The institute has so far trained 648 candidates in 31 batches since inception. The trained women today are found running their own tailoring units as professionals and stand on their own feet. The society feels happy that its efforts have borne fruit in making these rural women feel confident and secure about their future.

b) Vehicle Driving Academy:

The society, as mentioned above with the support of Swamy Ramananda Theertha Institutehas been running a Driving Academy for rural unemployed youth since 2009-2010, both for light motor driving & heavy motor driving. So far 274 candidates have been trained in light motor vehicle driving. The duration of training is 30 days. The training however in light motor vehicle stands suspended as the candidates are not turning up.

c) Heavy vehicle Driving:

The duration of training is 30 working days. A fee of Rs.2500 is charged to the trainees which includes licence fee also. During 2015-2016, 95 candidates have been trained in eight batches. Training of 9th batch is scheduled to commence from 28-03-2016. In all 685 candidates have been trained in 52 batches since inception. A representation has been made to the Swamy Ramananda Theertha Institute for sanction of additional courses. Response awaited.

d) Farm activity:

An area of 5.5 acres has been developed for paddy cultivation. In addition to this, plantation of Guava and Sapota has been taken up in an area of 4.0 acres and 3.5 acres, respectively.
